Tenacity: Granite-Born, Red Dirt-Tested

Raised a Swamp Yankee in the backwoods of New Hampshire, where resourcefulness was practically a birthright and stubbornness occasionally passed for a personality trait.
A soon as the wheels of freedom moved under my teenage angst, I traded the sticks for city streets hued in blue and yellow, off exit 104 along the banks of the Merrimack. Thus began a lifelong habit of venturing beyond the boundaries drawn around me, complete with equal measures of audacity, and questionable restraint.
Somewhere along the way I picked up an inconvenient habit: noticing contradictions, asking questions that weren't on anyone's agenda, and following threads well past where others wanted them dropped. Part pragmatist, part iconoclast, I value substance over appearance, independence over conformity, and ingenuity over manufactured obstacles.
That tendency to push past the obvious has proven useful in places far removed from the woods I came from. I have a knack for recognizing when something doesn't quite add up, separating useful information from noise, and finding practical paths around problems that resist easy answers. Give me a contradiction worth examining, a question that deserves more than the stock response, or a system whose logic warrants a closer look, and curiosity usually takes it from there.
Experience has also taught me that resilience is considerably less glamorous than people like to pretend. Most of the time it looks like adapting without surrendering your judgment, learning what you need to know when circumstances demand it, and finding another route when the obvious one leads nowhere. I've become comfortable with re-calibrating, rebuilding, and beginning again when necessary... Preferably with better information and considerably less reverence for the map.
More than a decade of Okie life has sharpened my perspective, but the plains haven't dulled my yankee sensibilities, my skepticism of convention, or my irreverent sense of humor.
I still have no patience for pretense. Masshole by temperament, Okie by address, unrepentant on both counts.
